dancing_crowBoth girls went off together this morning to Smith College to the theater to work on the children's production. For children, not containing children. Three shows in six weeks, Aerin says they just barely have a script by the end of the first week, but it is three actors on stage playing several roles, plus a lot of random stuff backstage and room onstage for a handful of kids they bring up from the audience. Alice was curious, and wanted to shadow somebody to see what things were like.
So I went up and rode Image, got grumpy and cranky, bathed the horse, cleaned the tack, and in a fit of brilliance called the girls to see how things were going. They were going really well - Alice was engaged and happy, Aerin was happy, and they were both going to stay. So I went over to the Canadian girls and rode Kaboose too. Which went really well and dispelled my grumpies. Also the saddle pad I knitted is absurd: it goes waaay too far down the sides of the horse and covers an insufficient amount of her back under the saddle. I can either cut and restitch it in a better configuration, or chalk it up to a really enormous swatch and give up or try again. bleargh.
More horses tomorrow because the girls are off to Smith again. Which will make up for migraine yesterday that flattened me.
