lumpy pots
Oct. 15th, 2010 10:01 pmThe first batch of Alice's and my pots are home. I can actually use one of mine as a cereal bowl, which is pretty gratifying. These mugs are hopelessly small, but I have one in the works with a handle *just* the way I like them.
On the theory that a lot of trials makes learning faster, I've tried to throw at least 10 efforts/starts each time I'm there. Of those, 5 go abruptly from almost-a-pot to squelpy mess, 3 will look promising and then become too thin or off center, one comes out well and I stop before I kill it, and one is getting interesting and needs just a little tweaking when my (charming and adorable and wonderful teacher) will have snuck up behind me and says Oh my God Lee that is Just Fabulous - Stop Now. And I jump and spike it with my thumb. He is sneaking up behind me less...
Alice and I were talking about what to do with all these new objects in our house, when we can only give so many of them to my mom. We've talked about a crockery smashing party, using them for sound effects, auctioning them off, other members of our family who might be mildly amused by them. Plus we get to keep the ones we like best.
Anyhow - a pots post, stop now.
If I could, I'd make it palindromic: stop pots
....
