Hiyou bozos -
P. and I spoke at the end of the school year about changing Alice from regular 7th grade math to 7/8 math. He said she had not done well on the test, but that if she worked over the summer her case might be reconsidered. He implied Alice wasn't as smart as I thought she was and all kinds of things about how I was a pushy parent trying to get her ahead. I do not trust your test. It failed to identify Aerin as someone who would benefit from more challenging work.
Alice spent a chunk of her summer vacation working with her father to improve her math skills and understanding because she does not want to spend another school year being bored. She islegitimately anxious to find out if she is a good fit for the 7/8 curriculum because she does not want to miss anything in the first few weeks.
What should we do next? Should she sit yourstupid test again? Do you want to review some of the work she accomplished over the summer? How are you going to decide if she has progressed sufficiently to be admitted to the other math class?
