Ugh shelves/bookcases are the WORST for painting.

I don't know the answers to the first two, but I feel like in any case it's "more than you'd think."

I am aces at cutting in edges. I don't even need to use tape! Would love to be in a place where I could've helped.

It's always better with a little more sanding and one more coat! Ha ha. But the paint and the underlying surface have a lot to do with it. I did apply two layers of primer once over a really gross green paint job, and that helped tone it down so that two coats of buttercream were enough.

Not getting paint on the ceiling is the hardest for me.
