cooking up emotions

dancing_crowI'm having this huge wave of sadness and frustration that I am putting the work into making the kitchen nicer and more usable and thinking about adding lights and colors and we're just going to sell the house. I mean, I hardly cook any more, compared to three meals a day 6 of 7 days a week when the kids were here and in school... I make a giant dinner for 12 - 16 every two weeks, and in between I try to do less and less with the frozen things from Trader Joe. There are only the two of us here, I don't cook anything except supper, it all feels miserably pointless and it's making me distressed and weepy.

The rest is just ... borrowing trouble, I guess? we only meant to be here for a couple of years, and it has been 20 so far, so if we only stay a couple more I will be 80 and being removed from the house feet first, so.

You are clearly spending time in it for Giant Cooking Events, so don't skimp on the kitchen, no matter how "well, I suppose I could make it work" the foolish Obligation Brainweasels whisper. Kitchens are important. Heck, even for us, who mostly microwave stuff or occasionally use the stovetop -- navigating chokepoints in a kitchen is a thing.)
And if the giant dinners are not only a Huge Crafting Feat but also an important social event... so not pointless twice over! Much pointful. Very knives. O;>

Thank you for the offer! Stand by for toilet replacement? And also I still /really /want to get the slippy white tiles out of the bathroom and ut down something rocky and nubbly and not slippery.
