small accomplishments

dancing_crowI have managed to finish a couple things by moving slowly but not stopping much. My favorite is this phone case for a friend in Vermont working as a chef at an Inn. The work sounds brutal, and it sounds like she needs cheering.
I've also managed to mend some mouse-nibbled holes in a horse blanket - technically a quarter sheet, made of fleece. The mend is too lumpy to go under a saddle, but if it's the part over the rider's legs it should be fine. I was trying to convince the woman to just let me make a new one, out of nice (pretty) new fleece, using the existing one as a pattern, but she didn't want to impose. So. maybe later.
And finally I have a working model for the stage and the beginnings of the set for Urinetown, the Musical, and with the choreographer the show is cast, and I could not be happier. the people this director chose are all people that have been overlooked for past productions, they are not lovely, but are individuals, and strong singers, and relentlessly cheerful. I am SO looking forward to working with them.
Oh - and i started a tortoise for Arcadia. Out of cardboard. Because at the moment EVERYTHING I make is out of cardboard. See?
It needs a couple layers of fabric and glue over the top, and I can start to add shaping and layering on the plates of the shell. Carapace. that is a good word.
I am kind of sick? but not entirely, just enough to suck the joy out of nice weather like this.
