Apr. 30th, 2014 09:37 ammade it to the gym for the first time in ...ages, shall we say? and leave it at that.
headed to the barn soonish, but since there's no particular deadline I'm hanging out a while longer
I restarted 750 words, which is sometimes interesting, and kind of boring, but allows space for ALL THE THINGS
After my dad taking interest in the idea of bringing his shop to our garage, I got a quashing email from my step-mother saying he's 88, he's aging, she's concerned about a bunch of stuff that doesn't seem relevant. She's basically written him off, and somehow expects him to spend the next dunnomany years reading and petting the cats? He's BORED, he's excited about the idea of projects, he's looking better than he has for a while - why decline slowly when you can DO STUFF????
And then I wonder if I'm failing to acknowledge his age, infirmities, spotty memory - it is wishful thinking on my and his part, that this would be a good thing? Also why the hell does his hobby require so much fucking infrastructure? It would be so much easier if he'd just GARDEN.
