After four or five rock jackets without sleeves, (because, yanno, no arms?) I succumbed to peer pressure and made this one last night. I find it deeply disturbing, but it is pretty. And all I can think of is Napoleon, who keeps his armies in his sleevies.

I was listing things I was missing, and other things I was not missing. Of all the things I was missing, the only one I can fix without going home is ice cubes. I located the secret stash of ice cubes and NOW I can have iced coffee whenever the weather gets warm, which honestly it hadn't until today. so.

I have had many excellent and amusing conversations, but the one that continues to crack me up sounded like this:

but people keep saying they need sleeves, but yanno? No arms? And yet...
them: well, rocks are people too.
Me: well, no, actually they are not.
Them: (boggle? I AM a teacher here)
me: (backpeddling slightly) they are certainly individuals, but really? Chemical composition and weathering history – there is no people-ness about them whatsoever
them: yeah, that is probably right...
(and then we work on ignoring eachother for the rest of breakfast)
