a duck on the pond at the DAR State Park, also sailing and visiting with Aerin's young man's father. Al, pre-worrying as always, was wondering why we were invited to meet the father, and thinking the kids might be getting serious and thinking about getting married. Which I would never have contemplated in a million years - they just want to be sociable and not stand-offish. And, as is the way with Al's worrying, it lodged in my head and wouldn't go away.
The kids didn't say anything, so it is probably not a worry at the moment. I'm not actually worried about them as much even as I should be (however much that is). They are kind to each other, clearly fond of each other, take good care of each other, and have sterling communication skills. They're fine.
Red Kate came later, and we staggered around the block, Al gimping on his weird leg thing, and Kate with back pain and knee pain.... Alice and I are fine for the moment. It is only temporary, both health and broken.
