Red Kate was keeping me company because she'd gotten her eyes checked, complete with belladonna drops, and she was functionally blind until they wore off. So she sat on one end of the couch and moaned about her vision and work, and I sat on the other end and moaned about my head and we ended up at Trader Joe's where she found healthy food and I got cookies.
I dragged her up to the barn before that because I wanted a spotter for riding Kaboose, who was fine. I generally try not to ride when I'm under the influence of migraine meds, because that seems to be how I've fallen off the last couple times, and I am completely paralyzed by the idea I can do it again. i should just practice falling and rolling.
Aerin's been accepted to Hamilton and Boston University, but declined by Swarthmore. She seems remarkably angst free about the whole process. I think being awarded a full scholarship to UMass takes a lot of the pressure off the remaining holdouts. It helps that she wants to stay close to home, so she's waiting to hear from Amherst and then will make her decision on the balance of distance from home and financial aid.
