sockitty socks
Aug. 21st, 2010 10:14 amI am emulating the Harlot and knitting socks from stash. Since I don't have a deep collection of patterns, I am yielding to the impulse to buy some, although there so many nice free ones at Knitty that I don't need many. It is going well; the level of yarn in my drawers is dropping, the number of socks is rising (even though I gave Jes one of the two green pairs I finished - the soft stripy ones) and the amusement quotient remains high.
Except, Alice wanted to stop to get purple yarn to knit a purple panda. We found this little bear pattern on Ravelry and she thought with a little fiddling, it could be a Panda too. So we stopped at Halcyon on the way home from the ferry. It was kind of overwhelming. Alice stayed focused, and found what she needed (purple felting yarn in two colors) and but then we found a felted flowers kit we (I) couldn't pass up, and after that I found some silk I couldn't pass up (I mean, isn't it gorgeous, all glowy and shiny like that? Alice tired to enable an extra skein of navy to go with it, but I resisted). So I have some silk socks in my future, after I get the current ones off the needles, which they are doing remarkably quickly.
