I am intimidated by the weather and the footing, and I want very much to not break the horse.

Also I have been (possibly pointlessly) gloomy, and it makes it hard to do anything. (I think it was laughing at this that busted me out of the glooms last night. That plus the miracles of modern medicine that can stop a migraine. Better living through chemistry?)

Winter shoes Dec 23. I can wait that long, or until the snow isn't crusted and won't bang on his shins.

Or I can just go walk him around and around, and not do anything except walk. I spent a long time walking an ancient, broken Morgan gelding because he needed 30 minutes a day to keep him from siezeing up and having to be put down. We could do all kinds of things at the walk; big and little circles, lots of lateral work, and plenty of time for me to think about it all....
