I want to just type stuff in here
and also I do not know what to say

I miss writing and being heard, which seems to be what this particular form is for, rather than long informational essays and shitposting which seems to be what Tumblr is specializing in. They've absorbed an influx of people from Twitter, which was ugly, and another influx from Reddit, which was oddly endearing. But things don't get read, there are mutuals but I have no actual idea about, well, any of them but like two, who I knew form here (hi Anne!) and from ... maybe the Captain Awkward commentariat? I dunno.

If I stick reading DW into the daily rota, maybe I'll have something to say next time.

Hello! Yes, all of this. I like Tumblr but it does feel like shouting into a void. I still miss the LJ of old! And Usenet. I really should get back in the habit of posting here!

I like tumblr, but it seems to be best for users who know people there already. If there is a sitewide interest search or anything like it, I haven't found it... I eavesdrop there, the conversations are interesting, and occasionally I post about raccoons.

There is a nice Daily Raccoon page, and a daily pigeon, and I've been finding a tall ship community and a handful of potters to follow - it is a weird place, and I like it, I just need what DW can do for me right now?
