Somehow at a recent gathering of family that included a handful of other people's (mostly grown, how the hell did tht happen?) children, the subject of unexpected clones came up. This is something I have spent a lot of time thinking about - how hard would it be to share my life with myself, and how would be divvy things up, and where would everybody sleep. Interestingly, this is apparently something many people think about. There were a lot of suggestions for sharing or blocking or other strategies, and then Aerin and Alice brought the conversation to a halt. Alice says she can't think about a clone of herself without hearing Cordelia Vorkosigan's voice in her head saying "Miles, what did you do with your baby brother????" and Aeirn agreed that the only wanswer was to bring them home and adopt them.

So there's that sorted.

Now I can go back to thinking how I might leave a message for my family if I am whisked into the future. Being whisked into the past is a solved problem, thanks to Back to the Future and etc.
