annual game
Feb. 10th, 2016 09:13 pmI don't actually play games on the computer much. Having said that, I just bought a new one for this year.
Last year I found Lumino City which was a completely constructed world with a plucky hero climbing and solving puzzles and helping people to make the lights go and rescue her grandfather. I might have bought Monument Valley too, which I still adore and replay every once in a while just to say hi to the weird totem thing with the rolling eye. Before that I picked up Switcher, again with all these beautiful handmade backgrounds and puzzles to solve, except I am at a place where I have to mash buttons and I suck at that so I am kind of stuck. I have the amazing Portal games, where I can get through puzzles but am stuck again on a button mashing problem.
I just bought Unravel - more handmade backgrounds, a creature made from yarn - RIGHT up my alley. It is taking forever to down load.
I also bought a new computer, with a solid state drive I am hoping will be quiet and durable for a couple years. Then we'll install Linux on this one and see how well it works.
Monday was a complete flurry of accomplishment, yesterday was nothing but thrashing. Today I managed to get an idea of how the cardboard set theory was going to work on stage. I have a whackadoo skyline for the set composed of photos of buildings from my town at weird angles. there are one or two iconic things, like the town hall with turrets, for the observant to find and feel pleased. Somehow I have to get the 100 lbs or so of cardboard I have been hoarding into skyline shapes. And also a fire hydrant and a tree.
As a producer, i am a talented designer.
