Al has cleared out all the wires from behind the desk, a decade and a half of them, and thrown some out and coiled some that were not attached to anything, and borked the internet twice and rebooted it, and the end result will be aggressively organized and much easier to live with. It was completely coated with dust, and he was sniffling and snorting and Alice was under the table wiggling wires and deciding which ones he was wiggling and what they were plugged into on both ends. I gave him the nasalchrom and a rootbeer and made dinner.

I had been helping C and red Kate at the Mouse Palace, taking more layers of glorch off the place. Her dad was there - he blew leaves off the driveway, so it looks like an actual road and less like Frost's Road Less Travelled. I spent more of my time under the counter this time, with a flashlight and vacuum cleaner to get the top layer of dust and spiderwebs and weird, unidentifiable crunchy bits. Then a sponge and hot water, and then the clorox wipes. When each cabinet was done I polished the knob, so anyone could know where I'd been.

then upstairs to help C with the master bath, which had two non-working sinks, a non-flushing toilet and an only-slightly-malfunctioning shower. the tub worked, but drained slowly. It is really weird to clean a bathroom without using gallons of hot water. Everything in the Mouse Palace is like that - present but unworking, worked once but lack of use has rendered it useless, broken and unfixed, broken and fixed badly. So insanely frustrating.

In other news i pitched an idea for song lyrics to the Toast and was cheerfully and kindly turned down.
I have one giant oak leaf printed on canvas and can't decide what kind of background to sew it on.
I have a half dozen other oak leaves (diff species) ready to print if I can figure out what to do about backgrounds
tomorrow i go try out a horse
today I was looking for a gray gelding with a placid disposition. since I was looking at off track thoroughbreds (OTTB) the placid part seems unlikely, but sometimes these things can happen. Since I was also only looking online, there is no actual way to tell anything. I just want to find pretty things to look at, and looking at the baby mustangs makes my heart hurt.

My mother reported last night that the small painted and stitched piece in the Crane Estate art sale, the one I thought was weird but done, and someone might like it, sold within the first hour of the evening opening. So that is wonderful and slightly mysterious.
