costuming, with forethought
Sep. 26th, 2015 08:50 pmAerin showed up with two colors of green fabric and we manged to create a kimono and after thinking about a circle skirt and having supper settled on making a pair of pants instead. Which meant we had to google up a plan, because I originally was going to make sort of weird swingy pants with all the bulk on the outside of the legs, and then we thought of those weird interesting Japanese pants and finally found hakama and so I made a pair of those. The basics are done, and now it is down to the finishing details. Her plan is to be Suki from the Last Airbender. She stole a piece of gold lame I had, has amazing gold tassles to hang off her glasses, and is looking for face paint and boots. Cheap boots.
I am so grateful she started this process BEFORE the last two weeks of October. But it was fun hanging out with her and talking and sewing. Except my pin cushion fell on the floor upside down and I stood on it, so I have a perforated big toe.
I am up on my tetnaus shots.
