dancing_crowSo - sticker, new plates, good lesson, flu shot, bathroom light/fan parts and shades for the bathroom sink light fixtures accomplished. Colors for walls and floor yet to be decided. Ceiling for LR trending towards copper, making the walls a problematical color. Maybe.
This day went on forever, and was characterized by slow people leaping into the road in front of me and then GOING SLOWER, or even STOPPING FOR NO REASON. If humans could combust from frustration my head would be a blackened cinder at the moment. Yet I have a sticker (a triumph after a 6 week saga of check engine lights and misplaced parts and the fucking license plate scrimmage) and all the above things happened.
The lesson was the oddest thing of all. Suzanne has been getting all zen on me, saying things like Don't push so hard, you'll get there easier. And then I try what I think she is telling me to do and something different happens, that had not happened before. So today we were working on walk canter (a breeze for us) and canter shortenings (activate your left hip?) and then lengthenings, and working towards canter walk. From softness. So I was all flaily but working hard at being different, and the mare stepped up and started offering all kinds of new and interesting things, but had trouble hanging onto them. So we were both flaily but different. And right now, somewhere else is a good place to be going.
