dancing_crowAl's off to Ann Arbor, to deal with stupid people. Aerin's got a cold and is going through astounding amounts of kleenex. Alice seems to be OK, but she looks dubious which generally means she has a headache.
I rode Nuada, which was fun because he was all on tiptoe because of the blowing wind and scuttering leaves. We worked on cantering; departs, transitions within the gait, counter canter and lead changes. I was working hard on sitting in the middle of him, and not letting my right shoulder get out in front of me. He was just working hard.
I made it up to the mares, and things were blowing and banging, and I had a headache coming on, so I lunged Kaboose instead of sitting on her. It still feels like a cop-out, but it also feels sensible. There wasn't any one there if I got in trouble, and I wasn't feeling durable enough to get through anything really awful happening. So. Discretion, valor, etc. And I worked in the round pen with Ruby who is being SUCH a pill. She is bored out of her gourd. she needs steady work, a person she can count on, and lots of things to think about.
I've been thinking so hard about things that are white or gray, or yield to depiction in white and gray, I completely forgot about all the things I see that are black. like the night sky with trees against a sliver of moon.
