Mar. 3rd, 2012 09:41 pmtwo horse day. Kaboose goes better after I have a lesson, and then I work on the lesson, and over do everything in the process, and get another lesson that reorganizes and sends me haring off in a new direction. So: longer rein, lighter contact, turn from the core and presto! better canter. gnar. at least I know it is/I am/we are improvable.
Took Nuada out today on what was supposed to be a gentle walk because I gave him his shot yesterday (first for me, I am proud of myself) just as the snow was falling off the trees. This was startling for both of us, and he was on high alert, but fine if we were trotting. So we trotted along, leaping gently with every whoomph of snow, until it fell on us, at which point ZOMG!! the sky was falling along with tigers and it was time to go home NOW. So we did, leaping gently all the way.
The snowstorms of the last couple days provided me with some spectacular inspiration, so I'm changing March to be black and white and gray and tiny landscapes. See what found?

and this is what I made from it. Constalk bases in snow against trees and a gray sky. It was so pretty today.

I came home to poor little Alice having a meltdown over the stupidity of her science teacher. So we fed her and cooled her off and told her we'd come beat him up if necessary and eventually she calmed down. I think just being reassured we're on her side is the biggest issue for her. If teachers say one thing, and we say another, I'm frankly delighted she's listening to us, I'm just sorry it has to be so stressful.
