after two days away the red horse was twitchy and grumpy. I asked A for help with attempting longlining tomorrow, just for a change of pace. Today was just reminding me of my seat, and working every moment on softer hands. I spent some time trying to find the center of the canter - it was the phrase that helped me get quieter and let her roll under me.

Some of the self talk about balance slearly came home with me. As did attempting to teach Aerin how to drive a standard. Al said, melodramatically I thought at the time, he regretted he had but one clutch to give for the cause. I have more sympathy for him now. She was awful, then better, then worse and frustrated. So I fed her jelly beans and took her home. Any advice cheerfully listened to.
