dancing_crowI think I've spent all of today doing unto others. I did ride Kaboose, who was feeling frisky and goofy about the change in weather. I stared at Penny, who didn't want to be ridden, and Ruby who only wanted carrots, and decided my day was full enough.
So I cleaned out the pile of blankets from the closet in Bob's garage. There were 10, plus two fly sheets that felt like screen doors. I wound up trying most of them on Kaboose too, just to see what might or might not fit. I measured her at 75" plus or minus. The various blankets ranged from 82" to 90" and all of them hung off her in various interesting and grumpiness inducing ways. There are 4 that might work; for coolers and lightweight indoor stuff. I'll need to ask J about a raincoat if she doesn't have a shed in her turnout. I left a detailed inventory of blankets, sizes, descriptions and issues (nibbled by mice, mold, missing straps) then folded tham and put them away. I felt deeply virtuous when that was done.
Then I foraged the makings of lasagna for the parents of the kid who is still in the pediatric ICU but in Boston now. She was in rehab briefly, then back in ICU. She's definitely herself, but thinks she's really sick. She can, unexpectedly, read. Her mom (child has 4, plus two dads, all gay, all in long term relationships - have I mentioned how much I LOVE my town??) suggested looking for single page stories or poetry. I was thinking of Shel Silverstein. Any suggestions?
I fed Aerin's young man, and the young man's younger brother, and then some complicated stuff happened where I didn't have to transport anyone, which was good, and now I've borked the rib on one sock and megavideo won't let me have any more M*A*S*H so Imma going to bed.
