ARGH!!!

My beloved sewing machine stopped. It feels like someone has their finger hard on the reset button, and it will not move forward but stutters and burps. This is the comclusion of the problems it was having a year ago, but now they are repeatable, and with luck fixable. This machine has been such a work horse, I want it to be fixable. I think it is the motherboard. And every time I think about a sweing machine with a motherboard I am grateful I got this one before they were so profoundly tied to an actual operating system.

I ordered a new used machine off EBay, another vintage Bernina, cheap because it has no foot pedal or accessories. Since I have those alredy, no problem for me! Also cheap Bernina! Or a vintage I adore! I shall hoard these things forever. Apparently.

I went to measure the marsh commission, preparatory to cutting it in half, and realized I had ordered the frames without measuring the piece. And the frames are not the size the piece is. So I have one large piece for the Crane Estate and have to start Jenny's commission over again in the right size to fit the new frames I ordered. this feels oddly circular, but I can't afford to ditch those frames, having ordered and paid for them, so... the new size is a smaller problem than the expensive frames. Which tells you soemthing about my time, effort and money intersection.

S&H's relatives are visiting from ...Ohio? Iowa? somewhere out there, to meet the production team. They will not be here in time to see H perform, which will suck. They should absolutely watch her onstage, she's bloody brilliant. Everyone is tense around the visit; production team, S&H, relatives - the relatives haven't actually contacted S&H about the visit? They've been working through me, and I assumed they were leaving messages that were beign ignored, but no, they ahve made No Plans and I want to BITE THEM for their stupid. I had to talk H down from a relative induced fret-fest.

Aggressive truth telling has been working really well for me lately. Well. Not so aggressive in the presentation, but very aggressive in the separation of truth from not-truth.

I'm off to South Carolina to see all my cousins on my dad's side of the family, say farewell to an Aunt with blood cancer, celebrate my dad's 90th birthday in style, and fly home again. Not looking forward to the heat, sort of looking forward to some of the cousins. Also my brother and his fam will be there, and I love them.
