Mar. 18th, 2012 09:30 pmhack out with a younger horse and older rider, both worried. Kaboose did fine til she was mugged by a stick and four bicycles. There were some very exciting moments, until we were well out of their way, and then she settled down again only to be astonished and horrified at a crow taking off. So mostly calm, with moments of AAAAAAAHHHH.
We finished before the sun finished burning off the clouds. once I got home, it was summer. Red Kate was there, and we had pizza for lunch with pepperoni, salmon, calamata olives and pesto. And then she convinced me to go for a walk except she cleaned out my garden first. So I sat in the sun on the steps and we talked some, and then we walked my 5K loop and talked more and I got my camera to do cool things and we saw a team of hot huskies pulling a 4 wheeler with 3 beefy guys on it and I think I gave myself blisters on my feet but the plantar faciitis seems to be lots better. So.
ETA - it looked like this:

Alice has outgrown her shorts, and since tomorrow will be 80 degrees fantastically farenheit she wanted a pair that fit. Which turned out to be size 10, up from size 6 that she'd been wearing for at least 3 years. She is doing some serious growing.
As for circles, I was trying for beech tree, but I'm not sure it looks terribly different from the birch tree. I'll go stare at the copper beech on the corner tomorrow, and see if I need to re-interpret it. I think I should aim for more contrast. Making a subtle gray background for a subtle gray tree trunk is not really ideal.
