one horse today: took Kaboose out and stomped up a mountain. Well, part way up a mountain and then down and then noodled around by the pond, and finished up with her eyeball deep in the pond blowing bubbles.

I have been pointlessly happy lately, like dancing in the kitchen, laughing on the way to the barn, no particular reason happy. Which is nice, but unnerving. This is January, time of darkest thoughts and grimmest things for me, and I'm ....not? I think it is the combination of mood meds and Kaboose, and near daily riding. Or it might be stomping myself up Sugarloaf in a routine kind of way. I was reassuring Kaboose, midway up the mountain, that I wasn't asking anything of her that I wasn't doing myself as well. Like hill work and conditioning. Except we're worried about keeping weight on her, and worried about scraping it off me.
