things I probably should not have eaten today:
1/2 lb of candy corn
medium sized bag of ranch doritos

things that were perfectly OK to eat:
high fiber breakfast cereal with lots of pecans and soy milk
a small tray of spicy salmon sushi from the grocery store
a lot of water

things I successfully eschewed:
all the loose candy at the barn

things that were unexpectedly successful:
putting the Chai tea bag in the cider and heating it up (except, of course, today was warmer than expected and hot cider was de trop)

two horses - Nuada the large patient gray horse is back from his summer on the island, and his person asked if I'd take on the odd ride on him starting today, and I am delighted to do that. I had my lesson on him today. Then Image while the rain pelted down.

J and I do better when Image isn't in the picture, and Image and I do better when it isn't J teaching us. She is very protective of him, and the three of us is bad. Working on another horse, I get better feedback about how and what I'm doing. Working on Image with the clinicians that come through, Image is required to be more forward and more honest, and we get much better work from both of us. It feels slightly uncomfortable to be managing my contact with J such that I ride her horse mostly while she isn't looking. I'll have to work on that some.

BARE NEKKID TREES!!!!!!

ahem.

I thought I'd spend an hour on this and then flop, on account of two horses today, but when I checked my watch it had been two, so I get to quit now, before I wreck it. I am very proud of the graduating sizes of trees, and I fully intend to add more heavy-thread spiky trees next.

Alice mentioned in passing that there was a difference between the pieces I make with a lot of thread, and those with less. She says those with less look like they are closer to what I was thinking, as though I didn't have to work so hard.

so.
