Aug. 27th, 2011 09:53 pmIt is kind of astonishing how much territory this storm covers. The eye is still south of Delaware, and we have bands of rain already, a good 400 miles away. Wind is expected to rise by a mph or two/ hour over the next 10-15 hours, and it looks like the eye is heading over us, or even slightly to the west. I would guess up the Connecticut River vally, following a path of less resistance.
To recap: rising wind, increased rain, storm headed inland over us. I would think 100 miles should put a pretty cood crimp in her power, but it could still be exciting.
We have food and water standing by, a place to go if it looks like the river will rise enough that it may be an issue, and an extra pint of ice cream in the freezer. If the power holds tomorrow, I'll bake. If it doesn't, the stove top will work, and it will be pancakes instead. Thanks for the good wishes. We'll be OK.
