Mar. 23rd, 2011 07:16 pm Two horses yesterday, both the Canadian girls, both had major yayas because a bear had visited their backyard and knocked over two birdfeeders, then come back the next day to make sure he hadn't missed anything. Bob said they were so spooked they wouldn't go into their stalls, and had to be fed outside. So they were starting at leaves and squirrels and verrry twitchy.
Two horses today too. Nuada stiff in the neck but soft in the back (go figure) doing up transitions in a timely and softer fashion. Poor Image has been off, slightly. Faint gastric distress, helped by moving some but not working hard. So we walked all over the farm, up and down the driveway, and started trying to make the snow melt in the outdoor ring faster by stomping on it.

Circus tonight. It turns out I can balance and support almost anyone on my back. I am crazy sturdy. Which is cool. And Aerin apparently has some of that too, because I can do a scoopy chest stand on her back (my arms under her, my shoulders and voice box on her back, my legs waving about [hopefully with grace and style] over my head). Alice and Al and I practiced getting onto and staying on the big solid balls that you stand on and penguin walk to stay balanced. Aerin spotted us, and tried how to explain it better. Alice is almost to free standing, but Al and I have a ways to go.
And for a final win, Aerin is driving herself home. woot! third driver.
