years since Al mailed me a balloon for Valentine's day: 28 (this was really shocking since I am 35 no, I did the subtraction and I will in fact be 49 this year. Maybe it isn't so shocking after all.)
years since that we have been giving each other balloons for Valentine's day: 27
years since Al asked me to marry him after a very fine dinner: 23

I actually have a soft spot in my heart for Valentine's day. But I still hate February.
