everything and nothing
Sep. 5th, 2015 04:50 pmit is still the settling in part of school, and also Aerin is still here with a borg cube of belongings in the middle of the living room. I do not want her to have to move it, or sort it, it is only here for a week or so, and doesn't merit a crazy amount of controlling.
Alice and Aerin and a friend of Alice's were outside last night after family dinner (the new Friday routine, more later) messing about with various forms of poi - the spinning things, not the mashed root. We have a lot of different kinds, including some LED ones that can flash or change color slowly, flags, the homemade tennis ball and Aerin's fire poi. They were laughing and visiting and exchanging tips and Aerin was tutoring... I don't know why I love it so hard when they sibling together with joy, but there it is.
I spent this week doing nothing but talking, reading and computer work. I should not have to email anyone for a week, once Aerin is in school and I have put some of my stuff back in her room for temporary storage. Keeping stretcher bars, frames and bolts of backing fabric and batting/interfacing is making for less and less usable space.
It is a gorgeous day and I don't much care right now.
I looked around on Dreamhorse and didn't fall in love with anyone. that was weird.
I filled out an artist's page for zatista, a curated original art online store, and then the whole thing vanished into the aether. since that took most of today, I emailed them to ask about it, and if I ahve to, I can do it again tomorrow. It looks like a good space for possibly selling some of my larger works, and maybe some of the more abstract thigns that are not landscapes.
I ahd a weird convo with Gallery Girl, and we agreed that a picture that had been accepted to a show should stay with her, and I apologized because (really) I had thought all the refusals were in and the things she had were not required any where else.
the local fair is going on, which I don't mind, it is ht epeople practicing drag racing down the next street over that aggravates me. And the out of towners tryingto find a short-cut to the highway and clogging up our tiny neighborhood.
