These guys are huge! The size of crows, and they go after big trees and make deep thocking noises when they bang on them.
I rode Kaboose today. she was behaving oddly, so I got off, and she was simultaneously spooked by something and being driven batshit by bugs. So we went and put on moar fly spray, with special attention to the ears and went back to try again. Then we did a lot of walk, and a tiny amount of canter, and called ourselves done.
In a fit of forethought I cut out another 60 circles, enough for two more months of daily things. That plus the 36 I did at the beginning of June should take me to the end of August. Getting the circles done is harder if I don't have the blanks ready to go, so now I feel smug, and prepared, and rich in circles.
I've started the packing lists for Haystack. It feels overwhelming. the list of requirements is short, but I want not to be missing things. This is why I hate (hateHateHATE) doing classes or retreats - because I need to be in my room, where all my stuff is, in case I need any of it.
anyhow. I found the papers that tell me what to pack and when to arrive, after I'd emailed the office and grovelled because I'd lost them. So I'll just study those, and breathe into a paper bag.
