two horses today; little weird rubbery Ruby who needs a job more than almost anything. she has taken to mooching treats but bolting at the sight of a halter or leadrope, as well as barging out of her stall when she doesn't want to be tacked up. My current job is to scotch that behaviour, and instill better. Also try to give her whirling brain something to think about.

Kaboose and I are still trying to figure out what Verne was telling us Thursday and Friday last week. She gets ... anxious? about taking up contact at the walk, so we did a lot of loong rein stretch/contact/stretch and some really soft lateral work at the walk trying to think about that. And beyond that she stepped right up to the contact, esp at the canter which is getting better, in tiny tiny steps.
