Penny was a Rock Star, albeit one who was convinced the judge and the rosebushes on either side of her were Very Dangerous. We rode Training level test 2 and 3, and finished with 59.something% for each, and that gave us third and first (!!). We have to go back later and lunge Ruby who is being a ditz, and test our mad halter skillz in the In-hand class (just leading them, and making them look beeyootiful).
I am grateful we got a chance to ride in the arena last night. They were both goofy at first, but then we went out around it, and coming back into it apparently it felt much safer. Penny was thrown by the rosebushes at C this morning, but she kept moving pretty well. They both got their hooves trimmed WEdnesday, and they are both ouchy on the gravel, but the rings are nice and soft, and it doesn't seem to bother them at all.
The funniest thing to me is how completely Not Used to This we are. All four of us are complete country bumpkins, although the girls cleaned up well, we are still kind of out of our league. Still, most of our neighbors are kind, and many of the horses are lovely.
