I thought sketching trees and thinking about trees and taking rubbings of their leaves and thinking about living in their branches was really focusing on the idea of trees.

Not enough. There are these tree books, with bark for spine, wood for covers, and all things from the tree inside; leaves, seeds, fruits, flowers...

I may need to reconsider. Everything.
