(no subject)

in 1984 I made the mistake of talking with my mother-in-law about the recent election. her comment completely floored me at the time: I voted for all the winners. I couldn't unpack that. But this morning I was thinking something very much along those lines. So I should maybe have more sympathy, in retrospect, than I did at the time.

I am mostly immensely relieved. Scott Brown isn't a bad guy, and certainly more independent than most R's, but he can only do that because of the crazy politics of his chosen state. Elizabeth Warren is closer to what i want from my political system. And Obama actually listens to women and trusts them to work and decide. easy peasy decision making for me.

I woke Alice this morning telling her Obama's still president, and you can relax a little until you reach college. then you can vote. That woke her Right Up.
