awesome things about Alice's birthday:
shepherding 7 12-year-olds through town, past the jewelry stores and the clothes stores and even toy store windows only to lose them to the bookstore windows... "Oooh, I love that one, have you read that one? what about that one, does anybody know about ..."

comparing notes with another adult on what kind of dogs we were in a previous life - I was definitely a sheep dog, he thought he might ahve been a Berenese Mountain Dog
little framed curliques all over the restaurant wall, plus one squid (plus also the Love Ducks, for those who have seen Arthur's take on the teletubbies)
