I am exhausted and headachey. I also don't have to go anywhere except my usual round for a couple weeks, which would be nice. Three trips out and back in a week = way too much time on the road, plus there is a serious blank spot in the NPR programming on the way home (radio stations available and show timing) which makes the trip more boring than usual.
Today was Go To Ipswich and Retrieve the Artwork or Any Financial Gain Accrued. Two prints sold, for a net win of... $45. Both originals are back home, and I think I'll hang them, in part to keep them off the floor in the studio. My (deeply mysterious and orthogonal) mother decided to trade in one of her smaller originals for a print, and I offered her two prints, and she took one each of Summer and Fall. It turned out she'd bought one of the prints.
I have no idea how to think about this. Were the originals too expensive? not expensive enough? strange materials? insufficiently finished looking? I don't know if other people's work was selling. And I'm not sure how to ask these questions, or even if I should be.
so: crap, and yay, and huh.
