Scribed in the morning (wrote down the dressage judge's comments and scores for each movement, for the mystified). I am always reassured when judges are generous with the intro kids; tiny children on tiny ponies and one spectacular, and spectacularly misbehaving, young horse. The Intro tests now number 3, one very basic, one less basic, and one with some canter on a circle, which theoretically keeps things more under control. We had a full slate of Intro riders, see above, a short list of Training level riders (reliable walk, trot and canter, with more circles) and a total of 4 rides at First and Second level.

Red Kate brought me lunch and kindly manned the video part of the camera so I can see how the tests came out. I am deeply grateful. And well fed. And enlightened, regarding what my riding actually looks like.

I am verry pleased with our performance, especially on the first test. It felt forward, cheerful, flexible, and not terribly resistant when I picked up the reins. It looked that way too, although my reins got longer and longer over the test (and over the afternoon). I was aiming for anything-over-60% which I got: 64.64 - bested by only one person with a 66, which she totally deserved. The comment from the judge was to be bolder and go more forward, so I leaned into that for the second test and got more forward but less connection. Reflected in the score of 61%.

Overall, very fine day. I get ice cream. Image got carrots.

On a side note, Elaine wrote me down as riding Casino Royale, and my first thought was "oh - I thought I was riding Image" but it turns out that is his official name and I was, indeed, riding him.
