I still find myself at loose ends thinking about riding.
I had plans for Leonor to love Kaboose, but she fell off (a school horse, not Kaboose or she'd never get back on I think)and then I fell off and then I fell off again, and now Kaboose is down at the place that gives me the itch and I'm riding Penny and Ruby and not sure what the hell I'm doing. I could ride her there, but it gives me the itch. I haven't been banished or anything.
I had plans for Bob to try eventing, with some cross country school at King Oak and maybe the schooling event there, and the two phase at Xenophon, but he is busy and distracted and we haven't done any furhter planning on that project.
I even had plans for getting Rachel up to ride Ruby more often over the summer, but she is off on vacation for the first three weeks of summer.
so what am I doing?
schooling Ruby, which is amusing but simple, and it makes my back hurt
schooling Penny because Bob still needs help maintaining the buttons, although he is getting to be a more accomplished and more subtle rider
Flailing
lacking motivation
missing Bully suddenly, months later
So I went up to watch some Bill Warren clinic at Xenophon, saw Janice's new horse (I haven't seen Janice ride for so long - I'd forgotten how supple and sympathetic she is), was offered some riding on her old man, so I said yes, thank you. Another educated old man. This should be good for me.
on the other hand, and in the other department, I got all the art that is going to Wisconsin together in one place and labelled and signed and wrapped and ready to sell my soul to UPS to transport, which is a win
